Have you looked into maitake mushroom, carnitine, or brewer’s yeast? I have no experience with them. I checked into a naturalist on YT that I follow. She does Q&A videos sometimes. In one of the videos someone asked what she would recommend for insulin resistance.
Maitake mushrooms was her first response then carnitine, then brewer’s yeast. Just thought I’d pass that info on to you.

Good recipe. I put clove tincture (instead of ground cloves) and orange peel tincture in mine.
Don’t forget to spit into a trash can instead of down the drain so the coconut oil doesn’t harden and create clogs.
