I am at my parents' house. I love them dearly, but every time I come I am reminded why I find the place "uninhabitable" — once the TV is on, it takes over the entire (open plan) space, and the only sanctuary of sanity is a bedroom. Even then, there are all the intrusive jingles of TV quiz shows.

Pretty much a massive disaster hit TX and OK. Not going to lie, it wasnt easy for a lot of folks. Our infrastructure and government response was not as ready as it should have been. Our power grid had vulnerabilities.

However, while fake news will make people believe that Texans were helpless.... this old Texan saw a totally different narrative. I saw people helping one another, I saw generators, fuel, firewood being deployed by residents - not government. I saw people opening homes and businesses as shelters, pets and all. I saw an army of four wheel drive vehicles pulling folks

The more I look into Texas the more it seems it was an inside attack.
DS insiders giving them a big FU for not being tied into the federal grid.

I live here and have wondered the same! This is pretty unheard of! Not so much a week of winter - but no power/rolling power and water and gas running low too! Oh and firewood!

Something is definitely not right about this mess. I'm in Texas & have been lucky to have had power so far through this event. But water dried up yesterday afternoon after it had warmed up some from Monday's unusually cold temps. Nothing about this mess makes any sense & the stuff being reported on radio news doesn't add up in the slightest. Very aggravating!

We know what they are doing, but thats ok. We will weather this storm and not change one bit. It was nothing but a waste of DS time.
