I’d reccomend switiching over to softer foods to keep her comfortable while eating. Wish this was my first rodeo with oral masses, but it is not. Have some other reccomendations, but only if you’d like them.

doGs are only with us for part of our lives, but to them, we were their whole life. From knowing you, her life has and will continue to be great.

Im sorry to hear that VK. I reccomend yall Fine Needle Aspirate it to see what cells they are under a microscope. Gives you a better idea of next steps. If surgical, should be an easy fix. Have done tons of mouth mass removals recently and all have recovered nicely.

You are correct. The Citron’s crest are much more orange. Great eye! I would agree that it’s a Triton/Sulfur.

Worked plenty with both these birds. The one on the left is a Citron Cockatoo, and the right a “Pineapple” Conure. Both are extremely intelligent and have the biggest of personalities. My late mentor was a true avian healer, hopefully I can carry that wisdom into the new world ahead.

Oh yuck. We’ll typically prescribe a single dose of Drontal (Praziquantel/Pyrantel Pamoate) for that. Works like magic.

Worked at a veterinarian for quite a few years at this point. Can reccomend to put some triple antibiotic, or any other type of anti-bacterial ointment/cream/oil. Just make sure any oul you use is not toxic. Also worth flushing the would at least once a day with clean, ideally sterile water. I do not reccomend hydrogen peroxide, as it’ll slow down the healing process. Leave the wound open and monitor for increase in redness, swelling, or discharge.
