We see the importance of prayer throughout the New Testament. The apostles devoted themselves to prayer (Acts 6:4), as did godly people like Cornelius (Acts 10:2). Every Christian is to be continually devoted to prayer (Rom. 12:12).

In my nursing education a l-o-n-g time ago 😂 I was taught exactly that. Symptoms are the result of the working of our amazing immune system. Most remedies to comfort those who were "sick" with these symptoms, were simple home remedies and comfort measures. For example honey and lemon for a cough, herbal teas, cool compresses for fever, deep breathing for congestion, sunshine ( solariums were available in hospitals), vinegar for digestive issues, clear liquid diets for nausea, BRAT diet for diarrhea ( banana, rice, applesauce, toast) and so forth. Today commercials offer quick relief from symptoms if you take this drug, or that drug. In actuality the illness will last longer if the immune system gets this kind of interference. Plus, the benefit of allowing the immune system to work, is that it becomes stronger! A strong immune system = less illness and/ or quicker recovery. 😇
