Here it is -19°C = -2.2°F .
Very different from the coast. The countryside is colder, darker, and holds ice in the air.
What we’re seeing is artificial light from street lamps reflecting off ice crystals suspended in very cold air.
At around -19°C (from my outdoor thermometer), the air can hold flat, plate-shaped ice crystals that float and slowly fall, almost like microscopic mirrors.

Because these ice crystals orient themselves horizontally as they fall. When light from a streetlamp hits them, it reflects vertically, creating straight columns that look like beams shooting into the sky.

I was evicted by text yesterday. Not sure that is legal. I'm very upset, I have no money to move, nobody to even help me. I'm under the care of pain management and my cardiologist. This landlord has refused to do maintenance and repairs for years. I've had to hire people to come and fix things or do them myself. I'm 71 years old. I shouldn't have to live this way.
Roof in only closet leaks, now mold is growing on the ceiling in there. Wiring got wet in the ceiling and fried the wiring in half the house, so I am using extension cords in my kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Toilet leaks all over the floor when I flush it. I use an air tracking that includes military. I have been doing this for years now and there seems to be consistency. I can see a plane overhead and because of the mountains it makes it easier to pinpoint. But, you are correct, it may not be 100% accurate. 😉

I have seen spraying planes in the sky many times and went to air tracking only to find there is no planes in our area. Those spraying have the ability to turn off the tracking. The planes you're finding may or may not be the ones doing the spraying.
