The common cold has officially made it to my town.

There's panic in the streets.

I know, a case of the common cold has never been front page news until now.

I was raised working on a farm... Believe you me, NOTHING STOPPED because of a cold - NOTHING.

You had to be already dead & cold when gran found you if you were going to get out of chores...

Later in life, how many times did I show up & work my ass off - by employer's demand - until I was wrecked, because I didn't take care of myself...

Not many years til I started working for myself & setting my own rules.

This is the part of the movie where things get hysterically funny.

It's really a good thing that I don't go out much, beause I'd get myself in trouble for bitch-slapping some of these CovID10ts, for sure.

I'm tempted to put a sign in my back window:

HONK if you think Covid is a total SCAM!

I wonder how much trouble I could get into with that?

Between 7 commercial poultry houses that are NEVER all empty at once/get time away from, a small herd of cattle, a milk cow, several horses, a 2+acre garden in summer, a 1 acre potato plot we turned each fall & got near bloodied knees braking tater clods/storing them, winter stock hayfields to cut/bale/store during summer when the hay grows well, and a 100acres of woodlands we used firewood from each winter...
Dad worked a 17.5 YEAR stretch once. Yeah...you fucking read that right...fever, wheezing/coughing in the crazy winters that come and go, pulling over & throwing up out the truck door if a stomach problem, and continuing on to work when done...yeah farm life doesn't stop.

Bingo!

We went to work with broken hands, broken feet, pounding heads or sick stomachs.

I remember getting up at night to find Gran still busy mending some piece of clothing or other. We had patches on our clothes, sure, but I never realized where they came from until then. It was just something she did.

Our pantry stayed full & we always had enough to share with others in need.

We ran on INTESTINAL FORTITUDE.

We volunteered to help others get crops in, raise a barn, kill chickens, or have a canning bee. Why? Because we loved our neighbors & enjoyed helping them.

We didn't do it for ourselves; we were part of a family that needed us.

We did that OUT OF LOVE.

...the people that survive anything...go ahead and shit this whole shit hole society down I say...I'll be fine! Have guns, fishig gear, food stored, water stored, LOADS of heirloom plant seeds correctly long term stored too! Including real actual hemp for fiber! I lived off grid extensively twice in my life deliberately and if the wife would go, I would go back!

You & I should talk, fren. I am likewisse prepared.

However, I gave my last pack of Carmagiola hemp from Italy to a friend intent on growing it... so now my collection includes mostly sativa, indica & ruderalis & a variety of ancient specimens, such as a pre-1974 der amanap. Excellent medicine plants, including many that are very low THC/high CBD.

I'd love to be back in the 4 Corners area again, but I'm getting old & it's such a hassle MOVING things.

When this bullshit is over & NESARA rolls out, I'm planning on fixing this place up chocolate box perfect, with all the trimmings, then head a bit north, out of hurricane country.

Randolph Co. comes to mind. I've wanted springs for a long time & there are plenty there. Bit higher elevation, better quality of goats up there as well, LOL.

...I think I have the only grade-schooler in town that can take a hemp stalk, bet the cellulose out of it, thrash and break it down, and comb out a handful of fibers from it for use...
I know how to do almost anything primitive. I researched and was addicted to primitive technology all through my 20's and early 30's and did lots of practicing it too. I am still a practicing primitive boyer, small wooden boat builder, urban power farmer in the desert growing food from literal sand freaking the wife and son out, snail farming in the desert, and starting a microgreen operation soon in the garage.
I had to use medicinal applications in food now. Years of party smoking it in my youth and smoking pipe tobacco for a couple of decades before quitting have destroyed my throat so can't smoke anything now. But my vices have finally been whittled down to just light drinking which I also want totally gone eventually...but it is my stress vice in these times I still daily struggle with!

...my neighbors have no idea what the f to think of me either. I go outside in shorts and barefooted and use my chainsaw right in my front yard on the street and cut up shit and make my own saw lumber in the driveway, or drag out my table saw in the same attire! I am skinny, almost bald, have a nearly solid grey mustache and soul patch on my face, and lots of face wrinkles from a life in the sun so no question I am older, but I pick up large gas-powered electric generators and motorcycles by myself and place them in the bed of my truck without ramps or dollys and do stuff like that as a result of being a farmer my whole life somehow and no one has any idea how to even say hello to me! Been here a year now and am still a total stranger to most of them right next door to me. Others here I have bonded with...other vets!

You just described why living in town is so miserable for me.

Leaf blowers & light pollution from people scared of the dark.

They don't appreciate my pack of hounds.

They're shocked at my wardrobe because I'm not one to give up on a garment with history...

The not knowing who is my neighbor is the thing.

Here, we have the Ezells on one side of us, nobody behind us, nobody the other side... A guy across the road I have not met yet.

When we first moved in, Ezell asked me, "You guys are Trump supporters aren't you? The whole neighborhood is hereabouts. Do you have guns? You really need to have guns out here, just in case. Not that it's dangerous or anything."

LOL

Good neighbors. They grow watermelons to trade for blueberries, etc.

They respect a good pig.

They LIKE my lead dog because she doesn't bark at bullshit; rather, Ezell knows by the tone of her bark whether he needs to go out & take a look.

Good neighbors.

Yes, my dog knows ALL the children intimately here. Best buds with them all too! But she's leery of everything besides the Lil ones.
I have a pistol and a woodsman's ax less than 2' from me on either side right now at the keyboard!
I have Constitutional Law posted on my door though also...so I am sure that has a lot to do with it. I am in the neighborhood you just described doing the things I just told you! LOL! It is funny to see their faces...I just smile and wave huge when I see them too...standing there in my shorts with my chainsaw in my hand, straw hat keeping me bald head from scorching in the desert sun!

LOL..

People in Chickasaw were always shocked that I had a pistol on my hip when walking the dog.

ATM, my closest weapon is about 12 feet from me - my 20 ga shotgun.

I have a .38 in the kitchen drawer only 8 feet away, but let's be honest - I ain't about to be leaping over the bar into the kitchen, so let's count that one 15 feet to get around the corner...

There's a .40 auto in the top drawer of the rolltop desk.

Another shotgun in the bedroom...

And then we have the 2 closets full of weapons for hunting, such as crossbows, my old recurved, and various caliber for game.

I'm always friendly AF, but folks know not to mess with me.

Basically, "you don't want none; won't be none.."

Yes. I have resorted to just a revolver and so does the wife, one 12 ga since I can hunt "anything" with it, and now newly 410 added but I am not hunting hardly any longer here.
Neighbors see the pistol going to and from the truck as I don't pocket it till I get out away from home. It's rather "stupid safe" here a block from the elementary school and half-mile or so from the police station. But the other things the neighbors see us do, archery, tomahawks, knife making, primitive woodcraft, and stone shaping. Oh! I almost forgot, I recently also got into making custom handmade tactical walking canes! You can take a wooden cane anywhere! They go through airport security, courtrooms, they leave a person with a real cane to keep it since it is a physical walking assistance device/medical tool, not a weapon. Took this skill set and made some badass canes you could club a mountain lion to death with and not break! lol

LOL!!!

I'll have to buy one from you!

I came to the same conclusions a long time ago, having watched my grandpa take his hollow cane to church (secret compartment where he was known to stash Old Bushmill's).

I bought a "weaponsized" cane from Patriot cane last year, but I bent it the first time I tried to use it... Not much, but it's bent.

I'd love a wooden cane, stainless steel reinforced.

You got a catalog?
