My body pushed me into a forced fast last fall. Not fun but it worked releasing a lot of crud. I can't do it now though. My blood sugar gets wonky in the AM.

It sounds like it might be better if you try something like intermittent fasting
That way you can eat in the AM & then fast later in the day
It also sounds like you might do better if you worked up to a 16:8 ration - 16 hours to fast & 8 to eat

Intermittent fasting is the best way to start out. Don't eat after say 6:00 or 7:00 PM. Skip breakfast have black coffee or tea only and then eat around lunchtime. I've been doing it for. 5-6 years now.

I would advise folks to start with a 16:8 ratio or even lower (16 hours to fast, 8 to eat) before working up to the 18:6 ratio

My problem is I am underweight. I have juice fasted but I need to do it in a controlled atmosphere where others are doing the same, that is when I am successful. Most places are quite pricey, plus I can not fly.....sigh

Several have already talked about intermittent fasting which has a lot of benefits
You eat "X" number of hours then fast for the rest
The ideal for a lot of people is the 18:6 ratio - 18 hours to fast 6 hours to eat - but I would suggest starting with a 16:8 ration
And even that may need to be adjusted

Start by not eating for a few hours, drinking filtered water & maybe juice if you need to
You can also drink black coffee
Over time you can work your way up to 24, 48 even 72 hour fasts & beyond
It's another way to care for the body & mind & overall health
Dr. Berg and Dr. Livingood have info on FB and YouTube. They're good guys, part of the new system that's building. Frontline doctors recommend it too.
