I agree, it is not a great argument. You would have to calculate all of the deaths due to wars, pestilence, famines, etc. The Black Plague alone was devastating to Europe's population. The nurse makes a good point. That is the reasoning I used to calm my youngest. I said, Do you see people falling over in the streets? Do you see ambulances everywhere? You don't because it is not what they say. I had a co-worker who was in the hospital with COVID. She fought them and said no to the ventilator. She survived. No one's family was allowed in to advocate for them.

After realizing that the mask doesn't stop the Coronavirus, they put two or three on. Also, they claimed there's a chance that it could. I recall the time my boss tried to get me to wear one, and I showed her the warning on the box, "the mask will not provide any protection against COVID-19 (coronavirus) or other viruses or contaminants". Then they said, you protect others by wearing it. If you sneeze, cough, or talk, the virus goes out the sides and through the fibers. It was so ridiculous.
