I tried that also and got the same results. it didnt melt. it turned black. Also put a spoonful of it (not packed into a ball, just loose snow) into a bowl in my 1,000 watt microwave and it took 20 seconds to melt it!#FrankenSnow

We were some of the lucky ones who could rely on family and generators but alot of people went without. If it weren't for my brother having a generator and filling it up w gas every 12-14 hrs to keep it going for 4 days straight my mother would have had to go to the hospital. She requires multiple machines including oxygen 24/7. We kept ourselves warm (if you call 52 degrees warm) w a space heater.
In our area it got to -2 degrees!!
