I know, a case of the common cold has never been front page news until now.

I was raised working on a farm... Believe you me, NOTHING STOPPED because of a cold - NOTHING.

You had to be already dead & cold when gran found you if you were going to get out of chores...

Later in life, how many times did I show up & work my ass off - by employer's demand - until I was wrecked, because I didn't take care of myself...

Not many years til I started working for myself & setting my own rules.

This is the part of the movie where things get hysterically funny.

It's really a good thing that I don't go out much, beause I'd get myself in trouble for bitch-slapping some of these CovID10ts, for sure.

I'm tempted to put a sign in my back window:

When I was a kid it was natural to go to school sick with a cold. Everybody did. Your immune system isn't strong when you're still in grade school. It gets stronger after each cold, that's just the way it works. Now they're shutting schools down because little Jimmy has a runny nose. These kids are going to grow up with weak immune systems if the nonsense goes on much longer.

I remember "chickenpox parties," where someone's brother would get chickenpox & we'd all be sent for a sleepover in summer to get it over with before school season...

We were 'poxed & had all manner of other shit...

Now they run for the medicine cabinet when they get a hangnail...

Everyone's so damned FRAGILE.

Whatever happened to the old "rub some dirt on it & walk it off" attitude?

People are much tougher than they allow themselves to believe.

Heck, I lived without shoes for the first 6 years of my life!

The same people that used to talk about letting kids eat dirt are the same ones who are scared to death righ now of catching a cold.

And they're also the same people who are glued to the TV every evening to hear Lester Holt's propaganda report.

Funny how that works...

Thank God that hasn't happened to my folks... they're all dead.

TV & Radio were something we did mostly in winter, when we were pretty much tucked in for the winter other than getting wood for the stove or feeding & watering the stock, repairing machinery, etc.

We heard the market report for about an hour every morning w/breakfast, the Farm Report with Paul Harvey at noon, and maybe some music or a story after dinner, but barely 3 hours a day.

Almost NEVER talked on the phone because some other family was always using it. It never occurred to us to use it as a pastime instead of reserving it for important communications.

It was strict, but it worked. We all did our part & pulled together. We got new shoes after we sold the corn crop every year. If Gran sold a rug, we'd have maybe some stick candy.

When I sold my first calf to a kid doing 4-H, I was so proud.

We got by with little more than common sense, spit & chewing gum...

and TENACITY.

I'm glad my parents aren't here to witness this madness.

The TV is the main problem with the world right now; some people still don't know that the media is under NO obligation to tell the truth.

It's all made up bullshit meant to brainwash and enslave mankind, even the commercials are meant to brainwash people.
