It would be giving up a few acres, and gaining pigs... have had pigs of the mini type, not interested in pigs. TV don't watch at all, but not sure if I'd give up wifi, it keeps us connected with the rest of the world. During our busy season we are putting in 13-16 hour days, 7 days a week... and sometimes it's even longer. Doesn't leave much time to keep up with what's going on or socialize.

The 50 acres of freedom may seem like paradise, but it can be isolating without outside connections.

Oh you still get basic phone service and you are free to get together with whomever you wish. How to videos were even suggested, which were a great idea. I don't think isolation is ever freedom, I believe it is torture.

This feel like my dream life. My mom was a farmer, and I used to milk cows and throw hay bales for a job (with lots of farm cat friends). However, it’s hard to think of not “duckduckgo-ing” an answer to something, watching how-to videos, looking up health (which I probably wouldn’t need), or knitting patterns!

Agreed, to to videos are the only thing allowed. I threw hay myself for 4 years starting at 12. Did a crap job for a few years but by 16 I was a solid block of muscle. Developed a really bad habit to keep the chafe out of my mouth though, I'm sure a lot of us did.

Sounds great, but Im afraid I would need some sort of a emergency beacon. Knowing me, I'd get lost on my own land. At least a couple three times, anway! 😁

Giving/receiving those things sound great, but it is truly impossible to promise a safe life to anyone. I do hope for the day it can be achieved.

Lived it. 185 acres....wasn't hard at all. I'm more stressed now than when I grew up on the farm. Cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, turkeys, chickens, cats, dogs, mice, rats.......Life was easy then. Seriously.

I had my chores. What an unbelievable experience. I loved every minute of it, except in the dead of Winter. That sucked.

I had a phone & a TV...and a LOT of pets.

About the same here minus a lot of those acres. It was hard at times but it was rewarding, I really miss it. I feel sorry for those who have never known anything but the city. I really do.
We had a T.V. but almost everyday we were out until 9-10pm doing something active and fun. Hard to find kids that do that now days.

That is a HUGE UPGRADE from 40 acres and a mule! I'm all in...

I agree totally but one of my best friends here with me said no. Kind of shocked me but even though he knows what is happening he loves the internet.
