Just days after Hunter's catastrophic injuries left him fighting to save both arms in a Shreveport ICU, Denny McGuff was electrocuted while working as a lineman to restore power for thousands still devastated by the same storm, and now he's fighting for his life at UAB in Birmingham with his left arm already partially amputated. Like Hunter, Denny went up in the bucket to bring light and heat back to strangers, and like Hunter, a powerful electric shock tore through his body and changed everything in an instant.
Anyone who knows the McGuffs says they're the kind of people who do anything for anybody, the same thing people say about Hunter, and now both families are living hour by hour, surgery by surgery, with no clear answers yet.

Denny is in critical but stable condition, and while Hunter has miraculously made it through multiple surgeries without losing his arms so far and is now off the ventilator and talking, doctors are still warning both families that the risk of further amputation is very real. A GoFundMe organized by Denny's best friend Kristy Morgan has raised over $185,000 toward a $300,000 goal to help the McGuff family through what could be months of ICU care, surgeries, rehab, and lost income, and the lineman community already rallying around Hunter is now holding up Denny too.
