M23 C-Series and T-Series submarines at DIMDEX 2026 in Qatar

Two submarines are reportedly being built for the Qatari Emiri Navy by M23 SRL in Bergamo, Italy. The exhibition included large scale models of the C-Series and T-Series designs.

The submarine has an overall length of 23 meters (75 feet) and a width of 5 meters (16 feet). It can dive to 200 meters (650 feet) and reach speeds of 12 knots. The crew of 6 can be accompanied by a further 6 passengers, typically special forces combat swimmers. These can lock out of the submarine through a special hatch to conduct covert operations.

While relatively short, its fatter beam gives it an overall size comparable to a typical 30 meter (100 foot) submarine.

At DIMDEX 2026, held in Doha between 19–23 January, Naval News interviewed the CEO of Olimp Defense Group, a Croatia-based high-speed boat builder. The Croatian company unveiled a new unmanned surface vessel (USV) design at DIMDEX, based on their proven hullform.

The USV project started in 2023. It shares the same hull and platform as Olimp Defense Group's M46 Multi-Purpose Patrol Boat. The USV is 14 meters long, 0.75 meters draft, features a top speed of 60 knots and a range of 1,000 nautical miles.

Turkish shipbuilder Dearsan launched the first of two FAC 50 fast attack craft for the Qatari Emiri Naval Forces on November 17, 2025, at its Istanbul facility. The vessel was docked and met the sea less than a year after its keel was laid in late 2024. The Qatari customer will call these vessels “MAC 50” for Missile Attack Craft.

The 50-meter missile-equipped platform is part of a contract signed in June 2023 and announced in March 2024 at DIMDEX 2024 exhibition in Doha. Construction began in February 2024, with the keel-laying ceremony held in December 2024. The second vessel remains under construction and is progressing on schedule.

Naval News saw the following ships arriving at Hamad Port for DIMDEX 2026:

One of the new Al Jubail class corvettes of the Royal Saudi Navy
Based on the Avante 2200 by Navantia, 5 corvettes of this class have been delivered. KSA placed a follow on order for 3 more.

"Air defense LPD" Al Fulk, capable of BMD thanks to its Aster 30 Block 1 🚀 and Kronos Power Shield radar.

A High Speed Support Vessel (HSSV) of the Royal Navy of Oman
Designed and built by Austal, it is a smaller adaptation of the US Navy's Spearhead class EPF expeditionary fast transport.

Lastly we saw Garoh (P 3725), a patrol boat of the Kuwaiti Navy, built by CMN in France.
It is fitted with 4x Sea Skua anti-ship missiles. The class was the only one ever fitted with this missile in surface launch configuration.
