SH Defence performs at-sea demo of the CUBE minelaying system
Denmark’s Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) carried out live sea trials of SH Defence’s CUBE minelaying system on board a Royal Danish Navy patrol vessel.

The test was carried out as a minelaying operation in Danish waters and marks the first time that the system is used from a naval vessel.

The test involved the use of BLOCKER bottom mines as well as software provided by ATLAS ELEKTRONIK Finland Oy. The minelaying system may be relevant to the cooperation under the auspices of NORDEFCO. The BLOCKER naval mine from FORCIT Defence is part of the established cooperation in the Naval Mine Cooperation in the Baltic Sea region.

At IDEF 2025 defense exhibition in Istanbul, local defense solutions provider TEKOM unveiled their trainable decoy launcher, marking a significant milestone as the first system of its kind developed in Türkiye.

Previously known for their fixed decoy launcher systems, TEKOM is now stepping into a project, trainable solution designed to enhance the country's naval defense capabilities. New Turkish Heavyweight Torpedo & Attack Drone at IDEF 2025
At IDEF 2025, held in Istanbul between 22–27 July 2025 the Turkish Ministry of Defence R&D Center showcased two remarkable systems:

A New Heavyweight Torpedo – Developed in-house, this underwater weapon boasts 100 km range and is equipped with a 1,000-kg thermobaric warhead, an uncommon and highly destructive payload for torpedoes.

Semi-Submersible One-Way Attack Surface Drone – Still in the conceptual stage, this innovative USV features the same 1,000-kg thermobaric warhead. Its design suggests a future role in asymmetric naval warfare and coastal strike operations.

In the interview, Mr. Güleryüz shares details on three major international projects STM is currently involved in:

Logistic Support Ships for the Portuguese Navy – This contract, signed in December 2024, marks STM’s first ship export to a NATO and EU member state. The project includes the construction of two replenishment vessels.

LMS Batch 2 Corvettes for the Royal Malaysian Navy – Construction began in December 2024, and the keels of the ships were laid in April 2025. The first corvette is expected to be delivered by the end of 2027.

Multi-Role Support Ship (MRSS) Design – First revealed at the LIMA 2025 exhibition in Malaysia, STM’s MRSS concept is designed to support amphibious operations, provide logistical support, and serve as a hospital and evacuation platform during crises.
