While we have all sinned, we must recognize that true repentance comes from turning back to God. For those who have backslidden or turned their backs on God, they will only find forgiveness when they return to the Lord. Furthermore, we cannot save ourselves. In order for our hearts and minds to be transformed and restored, we must seek the Lord, for only He can renew us. Much like we hear people reminiscence about "the good old days," this verse refers to the feeling one has of peace and goodness that follows once his spirit has been restored.

Thanksgiving, since most of the family I have left alive think I am nuts my wife & I chose to spend turkey day with one of her life long friends family. I knew her friend & her husband but no one else- 40 people. It was the best holiday in years, there were these 7 yr old twin girls that I was interacting with. I picked their brains & pranked them. yes they were cute but they laughed & laughed the entire time. They were so wholesome full of life, full of life and innocent. The light was beaming off these kids so strong that I became fully aware of God's presence all around me. We stayed 6 hours and when we left I was so charged from these kids that I could feel that they spiritually impacted me. I thanked both the parents for doing such a great job with the girls. They said thank you as a formality but I don't think they knew exactly why I was so impressed. These two twins were like glowing stars in the room. Had a great time with complete strangers- go figure.
