I think they believe in the time of Noah. They think they can run to their shelters when the flood comes. However they didn't consider the Flood to be that of information.

Well since we are eternal beings it wouldn’t matter. We would be somewhere in some form. Besides it’s my belief that the world will always be here. It’s energy and energy cant be destroyed to my knowledge. It may change form but not destroyed. Of course we are attched to our and the worlds current forms. Change is difficult.
