Jan, I see it the way you do and to be frank, this reaction to your comment is bizarre in that it is extreme...extreme to suggest you are a troll. Unreasonable to call this commandment from God a mutilation. All the men in my family were circumcized incl my sons. That is just normal in most church-going families. I think less common these days but I believe still the dominant choice.
I allowed it because it IS a covenant as I read it, and although I wished it was not a commandment, it is FAR FAR different than female 'circumcision'. My goodness who are these people here?

First off, I want to thank you for your level-headedness and support. I am finding so many freaks amongst the Anons it makes my head swim. You and Nanette from NY are like the top "normal" Anons!
In case you missed it, I found out from a Christian doctor (I'm a Jewish Gentile) that on the 8th day, there is a surge of Vitamin K that occurs in baby boys. God commanded that the boys be circumcised on the 8th day. He is the one who causes the surge because it helps the healing occur much faster!
My dad, my brothers, my sons, my boyfriends (except one - ugh) were all circumcised. As far as I know, my friends' brothers and dads were circumcised. It's just what was done and deemed not only normal but necessary - and they were all Gentiles!
