Just called a friend that is about 10 miles north of Tampa and he said he was going to stay at one of the local shelters. I told him he better get out of the state of Florida don't even chance it.

From coast to coast Florida is only 160 miles wide.
The width of this hurricane is over 400 miles
The trajectory is that it will dissipate once it passes Florida out into the ocean.
DeSantis you're an idiot for telling anybody in Florida to shelter anywhere near this hurricane.
You have to leave now because the roads will be so jammed with over 22 million people in that state.

I saw a video of the highway leaving Florida. It's jam packed, bumper to bumper. One woman said she was waiting until the traffic broke up before leaving.
I was afraid of that and I don't think the traffic is going to let up with 20 million people in Florida, it's only going to get worse

I'm sorry to hear but this is not a normal or typical hurricane there are multiple contributors to causing this to be a record-breaking catastrophic hurricane. Best thing is for them to get out if they still can.
