Grief is an emotion we inevitably face at some point in this earthly life. We don't want to be separate from the ones we love. Jesus understands the sorrow our human hearts experience at the thought of separation. He explains to His followers that the grief they feel in His absence is to be followed by a joy that will never cease. Christ gives us hope with the knowledge that we will see Him again one day, and eternal happiness will replace all the sorrows we experience on earth.
