There is a legitimate, un-debatable reason for this:
Lithium and Sodium are alkali metals, found on the column to the far left on the Periodic Table of the elements.
They are both Highly reactive and have similar chemical properties.
My chemistry teacher illustrated how reactive Sodium is.
With gloves on, he took a heavy brown glass jar out of a locked closet.
Then he very carefully opened the jar, just slightly enough to cut off a small piece of Sodium, a very small piece.
Then he went quickly to his desk with the piece of Sodium and dropped it into a large glass container of water.
It exploded!
That tiny piece Sodium exploded in the water!
Lithium will catch fire when exposed to air or water.
