LORD, TEACH US TO PRAY

The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. We know the prayer, but was that the only thing Jesus was trying to teach them? Jesus is also teaching them how to pray, praise for God came first, the desire to God's will is next, then we can ask for what we need as well as asking forgiveness for the times we have not lived as God wants us to do. After asking for forgiveness, we ask God to help us avoid the sins we just confessed. The only thing missing in the prayer is that of thanksgiving, which Jesus has told us is important.

CAST IT OFF

Are you overwhelmed by the weight of a burden you were never meant to carry?

Let the timeless words of King David, inspired by the Holy Spirit, sink deep into your soul...

"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalms 55:22 ESV

The word cast in Hebrew means to throw, hurl, shed, or fling. To propel something as far as possible. To sling something out of your sight.

We know that the author, King Davidm had plenty of burdens to cast off. Not only did he carry the weight of responsibility of being King of Israel, but he also had an explicity muddy record.
