Dear GOD, please prepare us as best we can. Please watch over the elderly, the children, the homeless. Please have mercy on the poor of finances and the poor in spirit. Please keep everyone healthy and let us all focus on what is important during the holidays. Bless those who are mourning here in our community. Let them be comforted by our prayers and loving energy. Dear Jesus please watch over the good guys in this world. Keep them safe and strong. Help us Jesus take care of the less fortunate. Let good overcome evil. We love you and need you GOD. We are here to serve. Please guide our steps and give us wisdom. Amen.

We were taught to hunt, fish, cook, grow food, build stuff, clean house, tend to yard&bushes, simple car repairs, check on elderly/help when needed, obtain "kid like" jobs for money, do required chores or get your butt beat (pick your own switch from tree---ouch) and celebrate true meaning of 4rth of July.
We played hard outside all day. Built forts&tree houses from scrap.
Ate wholesome food from gardens-rarely sick/overweight.
Rode our bikes/jogged miles to get to the beach for swimming.
Played tennis in the road. Hockey during winter at school parking lot where we also did donuts with our cars when older. 4 wheeling thru fields. Floated down the river on intertubes. Skated.
Jumped off the house roof just because. Drank from garden hose and ran thru sprinklers. Remember hot summer days when Fire Dept unleashed the water from hydrants. Found mud puddles to lay in after storms. Played sports.

I never thought to share this here - but Mandy Brake@techstartupmom (fellow pianist) inspired me. I've been playing the piano since I was 4 and spent most of my childhood years playing in the background - accompanying jazz bands and choirs. In the early 90's I realized I had the gift and desire to write my own pieces. Many years later I finally got up the courage to play some of my material - solo - at a local talent show. I was scared out of my mind - literally shaking with anxiety. I walked out on stage and when I went to use the sustain pedal my leg was trembling violently. I pulled it off - finally relaxed by the last tune - and received a totally unexpected standing ovation. I was in tears - and the connection I felt w/the audience was unlike anything I had experienced before. Popes and catholic priests elevate themselves to be on the same level as God, saying they can "forgive" your sins by having you chant "hail" (i mean, really? Hail?) Mary 10 times to 1 Our Father.
These priests are called "father".
We have only ONE father. The Lord God in heaven.
We have direct communication with Him. Jesus saw to that when he willingly gave his life to be our bridge back to God.
No priest, saint or any other entity necessary.
