I thought the recipe was "unconditional love, conditional support", but I am realising it takes three parts:
- Unconditional love, even for enemies
- Absolute detachment, even for closest relatives
- Variable support, depending on behaviour
The detachment allows us to hold on to hope (of reconciliation, repentance, or restitution) without needing it.

Absolute detachment from closest relative is the difficult one for me with one family member. Full time caregiver for Parent. It's a fine line to walk. Many entanglements. I agree with you though.

Bingo!! People often have the wrong idea of how difficult it is to live as a True Believer who lives in TRUTH and Loves because of their surrender to God! (Jesus came to Divide, he did not come to make us people pleasers and avoid conflict)! 🙏❤️😬
