By now I'm wondering how many times I have to stock up on food, water and essentials. I've done it so many times. Geesh. Keep pushing that goal post back.

Started stocking up in 2010 and learned to farm. This plus other items equals freedom.
I think the point is to learn to keep supplies in reserve, not rush to stock up every time they say stock up. Don't continue to live in the just in time system, have something in reserve and grow your reserves so you have say 6 months or a year of something in reserve. Make sure to rotate through your reserves. Learn to grow your own food and learn how to preserve the food you grow.
If people are prepared then DS can not use it as a threat.
