Her living legacy is that all those who knew her loved her and respected her. I am a part of that legacy. My sweet Maggie Mae is already in training and both the trainer and I are amazed at her intelligence and her dedication. She is going to make an amazing Therapy Dog. Kat - we stayed with Memaw throughout her last night on earth and we could all feel angels lifting her up. I still feel her spirit here with me. For her graveside service we played the song below. She paved the path before me with everything she had to give. She was one of your greatest admirers. Right through to the end of her time on earth, she knew that a great victory awaits us all.

Sadly, Memaw passed away on August 28th She was 100 years and 17 days old when she passed peacefully in her sleep. For the past 30 years, I have lived with her - been her daughter - her friend and caregiver. Thank you God for allowing me to do that. My daughter and her family gifted me a German Shepherd puppy and I named her Maggie Mae (my Mother's nickname). I am training her to be a Therapy Dog. We will go into childrens' hospitals and nursing homes to bring a smile on someone's face. This sweet puppy is a daily inspiration to me. Maggie Mae's devotion and love are the best gifts I could hope for. My life is moving into a whole new space - without the Mother I love so dearly. But God never traps me behind a closed door - He always opens a new door that brings happiness and peace. I pray that all the working dogs in the world will be known for their devotion and great courage.

The search for signs of life or human remains

Vets were on site to care for them.
Working 12-hour shifts on the pile, the dogs needed
their paws, eyes & noses cleaned often.

Riley worked hard to find living people
but he also found bodies of Firefighters.
Police Officers & Firefighters would give Riley hugs
& that helped them carry on.

Another therapy dog, Nikie, provided comfort.

Bretagne, the last known 9-11 dog, passed in June 2016.
She was a 2-year-old @ the WTC.
Rescuers sat with her & her handler Denise,
& told their stories & shed their tears.

We celebrated the amazing 100 Years of Memories with my beautiful Mama on August 11th. She was very touched by the outpouring of friends, associates and family through gifts and personal conversations. Mama passed away on Wednesday morning - peacefully with no pain - in the presence of myself, my daughter and my grandson. She completed her mission on this earth and entered Heaven with a glad heart and a clean slate. She is now celebrating her salvation with Jesus Christ and the angels. Still, I miss her. I miss her comfort, her strength and her loving presence in my life. I find comfort in the knowledge that she no longer is restricted by the chains of old age and the fear of tomorrow. I have already adopted a German Shepherd puppy named "Maggie Mae" and plan to train her to be a therapy dog. She's very smart and sweet and I pray that we can become a team who will bring smiles to those who have lost hope. Please pray for me to grow knowing God has a plan for me.

My Mother just reached a milestone in life - she is now 100 years old. Such a great milestone. However, she is now on Hospice. They are a great resource to help us take care of her at our home - 24/7 response teams. We are sad to watch her transition to her new home (Heaven). But we know she will soon see our Savior Jesus Christ face to face. Will we miss her here? Absolutely. I am faced with a day on this earth without my Mama. I know that God will be receiving her into her new home. Strangely, we have all been feeling the presence of ANGELS in the room with her. This past weekend we celebrated two amazing parties for my Mother who turned 100 years old. She was among over a hundred friends and family. Two separate parties hosted by the owners of two restaurants in our community - Miyakos Hibachi and Sushi Bar and Farinas Italian Cuisine. These two owners welcomed all our guests with great food and service. Now - I am getting used to saying "my 100 year old Mother". She is so blessed and loved. Both events went off without a hitch. It was a LOT of work and planning but well worth it. Thank God for an amazing CENTURIAN who is still with us alive and kickin'. How did she do it? Often asked to her. She lives by the law of LOVE that Jesus passed onto to us all. She is slow to judge but quick to forgive. She thinks of others before her own needs. Her fading eyes, ears and memory do not stop her from glowing with the love of Christ.

We are so blessed to have this beautiful human being with us for a century of memories. I am both proud and grateful for the time I have with her on this earth. She is such a brave and amazing woman.

We have been noticing the white sun for the past 3+ years. This past week, we listened to the most amazing thunder we ever heard.
