I think: John Hinckley, the man who attempted to kill Ronald Reagan in 1981, also was in possession of the book. I think it was found in his hotel room??
I read that Robert John Bardo also carried around a copy of The Catcher in the Rye with him when he murdered 21-year-old actress Rebecca Schaeffer in July of 1989.
