My grandfather of German descent was a B-17 Flying Fotress bomber navigator for USAF in WW2. Stationed in England where he met my grandmother and mom was born there. They had to escape to Scotland when the Germans bombed London. My dad's dad was from Scotland and dad's mother was German. Funny how things work out.
