If I were you, I'd make sure you have at least a one month supply of food and water, two full tanks of propane and batteries for flash lights.

TODAY is always a really good day to make sure your household is stocked up on canned & dry non-perishable food, water, and necessities up to 30 days worth if you can.
If you have the resources, stock up on extra so you can help others.
Should be a top priority.

Not many in the 6 states will have the funds to, even before the hurricane and the ones coming down the pike!

The economic situation virtually everywhere is horrid. We only have to look at virtually any American big city & just at the number of homeless on our streets to see how bad the situation is. Still, many people have resources & should, if they can, help however they can, being careful what organizations they give money to, so it gets to those in need. My approach is to encourage contractors who may have some resources & Blessings of IRON, to take time to help & provide Equipment to the disaster efforts and help dig people out.
Others are volunteering with aircraft. Excellent, but have to be aware other operations are afoot that require TFRs for safety's sake.
Volunteering with whatever spare resources people have, even horses & pack horses, ATVs, and even pickup trucks to deliver goods. Strong arms & shovels. Excellent. Floods mean it's a race to save homes, cuz mold condemns them.
People who can should help, while maintaining self-sufficiency 24/7 for their own safety.

The most important thing for ANYONE and EVERYONE going into these flood disaster areas to help is 👉 be prepared and Self-Sufficient while there, so that they do not themselves fall into need of rescue or evacuation for having run out of resources such as food, fuel, shelter and such.
Go but go PREPARED and be Wise & Safe & Alert against all Hazards like down powerlines.
If ones goes planning to physically help for a day, pack the vehicle as if going for a few days just in case. Carry spare fuel and make sure not to go further than your fuel supply will last to get back out or even home, so you can return and do it again. Plan fuel reserves in case one has to detour.
Contractors are used to being relatively self-sufficient on construction jobs, carrying their own fuel reserves for example.
One contractor or two can make a huge difference for a small town or community, a force multiplier for those with shovels, chainsaws & wheelbarrows.
Tree contractors, activate! 💪

just saw a video from a woman who said to stay away from all fema camps as they steal your stuff. if they dont let you pass make sure to have alternative roads etc. to get to the places that need supplies. ie: those who havent been gotten to yet.. after a week!!! ''
GOD bless them all

That is a good reason to go in TEAMS. Tools, fuel and equipment are expensive and valuable and contractors should go just minding their own personal security, same for all disaster relief volunteers.
