We stopped at Dollywood on a bus tour and I just got a bad vibe. Neither my husband or I ever want to go back. In fact, I don't think anyone on the tour spoke very well of Dollywood. And, she changed the name of her venue in Branson so that it is no longer the "Dixie" Stampede, just Dolly Parton Stampede . And the show only says blue and gray soldiers instead of Union and Confederate. I am done with Dolly!
We stayed in a cabin up on a mountain high above Dollywood. A little black dog haunted it. I didn't get any sleep. I felt bad vibes the whole time.

Although Dolly Parton's (and a few others) Hollywood film career had been on-going for some time a very noticeable stark increase in the influx of Hollywood actors and all the hoopla they drag around with them was taking place while I was there. During that phase as evidence of how cozy the Hollywood-Nashville thing was becoming mega-Hollywood star, Nicole Kidman, married one of Nashville's hot-talents-of-the-moment Keith Urban and they bought a house there.
Of note as well is the full scale model of the Parthenon housing the 42' statue of 'Athena'/Diana/Semiramis/Queen of Heaven 'etc' that might seem a curious thing for Nashville along with all it's curiously regular visitors from the top political class.
