I understand this happens because I *see* it happening in real time...BUT, I had very strong core beliefs once too. and it very literally made me physically sick to accept some of the evidence that was presented to me. It was uncomfortable to admit I'd been wrong and extremely difficult to change my core beliefs to accept things I'd previously considered OUTLANDISH. I DID though. You can only dig your heels in for so long before you have to start researching information for yourself and it's very hard to empathize with people who, at this point, haven't accepted anything they've seen with their own eyes
