Got that reversed Liberty is something someone else gives to you. As in the military the sailors are given liberty to leave the ship by a superior. Freedom is a born given right.

Interesting. Maybe they are both true. I suppose the real meaning lies in your knowing. If you think someone else has the power to give you liberty/set you free, then you will always be reliant on others. And technically still be 'chained'. If you know it was always yours in the first place, then there is no problem.
