I believe this because of the German Shepherd that brought joy and peace to me for over 12 years. I too suffer from PTSD as did my father before me. The deep depression that can overshadow every corner of your life is devastating. Only the love of God and His mercy could set me free. The German Shepherd (aka Sele see picture below) was my anchor. I believe those that depend on dogs should get a puppy about 6 or 7 years, because unfortunately, a dogs lifespan doesn’t match a humans. That would prevent the total loss when the 1st one passes.
