Other people have mentioned having their mortgages paid off also...

Why would it be in dribs and drabs, and not just everyone at once?

Not sure about this, but very much want to believe it. 😁

I thought further on this, and, I am wondering if the mortgage was sold to another lender?

This would certainly zero out the old account.

I guess if they get a statement from the new lender, that would be the case.

Do you stay in touch with anyone who has had a zero balance show up? Did they ever get a statement from another company, or was the debt really zeroed out?

I don't know anyone personally who has had their mortgage paid off, no. But if another lender bought their mortgage I would certainly hope that they notified the borrower before it was purchased by them.

I keep feeling like Donkey from Shrek, going "PICK ME! PICK ME!!"

Wonder what criteria they use, or if its just a random number generator (social security number perhaps).

Then I think of the loosh provided by disappointed folks, realizing this is just another hopium outbreak, and, I sight and carry on... 😁
