Disgusting - when I moved to Florida I never changed my registration or my license. I since then turned in the car - but what a racket...these companies/gov't etc are ridiculous. They will ALL get SHUTDOWN soon ! - Every dime you have spent on this F*CKERY will be returned.
I know a few people with ridiculously expensive jet boats. They start LLC's in a neighboring State that does not have sales tax. They then register their boats in that State. I don't suppose the loophole will last forever. But some of these boats are worth more than my house.

It's been ridiculous my 35 years here!! I refused to get a national whatever license because they needed absolute bullshit info that THEY had already possessed to change my married name the 1st time. Fines and fees rule the world. State by state. SC is bullshit. With bullshit reps.

Wow! I live in Canada and just bought a secondhand with 2 previous owners. Took it to the ministry, had to pay $400 for sales tax. In Ontario, that car can be owned by 10 different people and the taxes have to be paid, every single time! I feel for you. 😔 It is disgusting. 🙏
