a little - it tastes horrible, but it's a natural supplement for people who have a hard time absorbing Iron / ppl with iron deficiencies like anemia.
There could be other benefits but this is the main one I've researched.

I think that's why people used it for things like Molasses Ginger cookies. I remember my Mom making them. Looking back, molasses and ginger combo in a cookie was probably a great way to get the benefits to kids. They tasted really good!
