But mainly, breathe. Cry. Sleep. Repeat. Time eases the pain, but you have a long road ahead of dealing with this intense pain.
The more we love, the more it hurts when they are gone. Your pain right now, that gets twisted around inside until you feel you stomach coming up in your throat and you're struggling to even attempt to breathe...that is a tiny measure of how much you loved your girl.
Your soul is lost. It's wandering, trying to make sense of why she's gone. It needs rest, sleep, so it can see things clearer when it wakes up again.
Riley is gone from here. But she's waiting for you. She's not far away, and she is in very very good hands - you could not ask for better if she had to be away from you. If you had to give her to anyone, for any length of time, God is the perfect and best option out there. He is so proud of how you loved and took care of her. And He knows your pain - cry to Him. Dump the pain at His feet. He WILL help y

Mary Beth - I raised my Downs sister when my mom was bedridden with leukemia. I was 15, my sister was 11. My mom died when I was 17, my sister was 13. My sister and I kept going until she died in my arms at 39 - it nearly killed me. I had my own family but took care of my sister too. She was like my own child by then.
Just breathe. Sleep A LOT. Your body is exhausted and so is your soul. Sleep. CRY whenever it is too much - go somewhere and just cry until there are no more tears. Let the tears wash your soul.
God gave me a gift after she died - He let me see her in heaven. The joy in heaven was so intense it HURT to even look on it. She wasn't 39 anymore, she was a little 4-5 yr old girl, twirling on greenest grass I ever saw. She was SO incredibly happy and free. Her joy was so overwhelming I had to turn away, and the vision was gone.
Your girl is free, and so so happy. They have a special place in heaven. They are God's gift, loaned to us. One day, you'll hug her again.

This baby was LOVED so beautifully and so fully.
Because of this great LOVE, the whole can only be filled by YOU. Please fill the momma and daddy and family with YOUR perfect love so that it overcomes all fear of loss.

Questioning everything led to my progressive awakening. Still learning daily. A new me, The Real Me is emerging. Strange, but I like her.
Not the same, but I lost a nephew many years ago. It was agony. My sister suffered greatly of course but made it through. Find support groups with others going through this. It may seem trite but it really is helpful. Allow yourself to grieve and donβt let anyone tell you otherwise. Do you know Jessica on here that recently lost her 18 year old daughter in a car crash? The Lord is close to the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. Father, I lift these grieving parents to your throne of grace. Lord, they are going through a lot of pain after the loss of their daughter. It is not an easy thing for a parent to bury their child. Father comfort them. Help them continue being faithful to you even through the pain. Lavish them with your love, fill the void left in their hearts with your unconditional love.
Lord help the family heal, help them remember the fun times, help them move forward, help them not to be mad at you because it's the enemy that steals, kills & destroys, not you God. Lord comfort them, give them strength & deliver them from distress and send them the help they need. In Jesusβ powerful name, I pray. Amen.
