We haven't seen the full suffering of the children and other victims, which makes it all too easy to focus on one's own hurt. That said, the hurt is real. That others are more traumatised and brutalised doesn't make you whole and healed. My achiever finds it hard to be satisfied with just plodding on to another day, but it's all the energy I can muster at present.
It's hard to even imagine the Children and other victims' pains. I would never even compare my hurts with what they endured. May God bless and heal them all.
