A BICYCLE FROM THE 12TH CENTURY
In May 2008, archaeologists from Bristol University, conducting excavations on the territory of Chateau-Gayard (France), made a sensational find, which dates back to the 12th century. A bicycle was found at a depth of 2 meters.
This exhibit strongly resembles modern bicycles, but is made more crudely. It has armor, the handles are made of sword handles, and the wheels have horse hair instead of tires.
In case anyone has forgotten, the bicycle in the modern sense was invented in the 19th century.
