The nature of unrestricted warfare with information insurgency means that ordinary people (like me) are pitched into the front lines of battle, but without formal recognition of this being the case. I absolutely didn't seek personal notoriety — I just used the existing assets I had (social media, mailing list) in my name to say we were being lied to by the MSM.

Now there's an awkward dilemma: any future formal recognition for good works done brings limelight that I didn't ask for and maybe doesn't serve me. I love what I do, and am so glad to have helped people, just I didn't really have an option to be anonymous. The infamy is reluctant and from a sense of duty.

It may be that the "reward" is reversal of the character assassination of me in the press, both personally (Newsweek, FT, Evening Standard...) and collectively ("QAnon extremist and cult"). It has harmed me and my personal life very seriously. Justice demands severe punishment for their cruel lies.

The idea of "stealing a meme" is clearly absurd — you aren't depriving anyone of anything to serve your own interest. Memes are cultural objects used to promote collective and righteous causes. It highlights the ridiculous nature of copyright as currently framed: making ideas into physical objects, and presuming the spread of ideas can be turned into property. We still need to reward creators and their innate rights (like to be recognised as author). Just the way we have been going about it leads to Disney and lawyers everywhere, and it's not worked out well for society.

Over and over I am seeing the righteous around me being persecuted for refusing to go along with lies and liars. Lost career, kids being stolen off them, canceled friendships, slandered, agreements broken, deplatformed online, denied proper healthcare, and on and on.

To my mind there is a paradoxical power in "describing and defining the shit we stand in". It's not to want to wallow in shit, or to seek to demoralise ourselves by the unpleasantness. Rather, it is to fully identify with the reality of the "social sewage" so that we may press on and get out of the sewer.

If Lobstr etc are being used to release seized assets – fabulous! And I am so glad others are picking them up at amazing low prices. I know we are moving to a world where hoarding will be frowned upon. If you have a viable project for the world, the resources will find you.

I know the pain we are going through will be worth it. And it does hurt very much to get there. I just ate a lovely breakfast, but I see torment from injustice around me afflicting those I love, and the contrast between the physical comfort and emotional agony is difficult to process and accept.
