Domestic First Drink Selection
Is the Domestic First Drink selection just the same as what is in the back plus whatever they have leftover from their last international flight? Or is there some difference in catering the front cabin with drinks than the main cabin?
I know widebody international J/F usually have a drink list and from my limited experience on narrowbody international, they seem to have the same selection as the widebody international (some better wines, Glenlivet, not sure of the other liquors since when I do want liquor, I only get scotch or bourbon.) just not on a published list.
After a long day in the air and a tight I-->D connection, I forgot I was heading home to my sleepy Midwestern outstation on a domestic flight and asked for a Glenlivet and the FA said he'd have to check to see if he had any. To my surprise he did! Came back and asked me if I wanted the last 2, "No one ever gets them so if you want them they are yours."
American Airlines JFK terminal 8: International to domestic transfer, Security check needed?
International: AA 293: Del (India) -> JFK
I.5 hours layover
Domestic: AA 2819: JFK -> ORD
Questions:
Is Security Check needed again in Terminal 8 JFK - even when both the international and domestic flights are in the same terminal?
For rechecking the bags for the flight JFK - ORD is there a quicker way, like a transfer desk (or similar)? Or does one have to go back to the CheckIn area and stand in a line?
Just trying to see ways of saving time. Thanks in advance!
I was just thinking about this experience from 2024, but I missed an American Airlines JFK-LAX flight at ~6:30am, then got moved to a ~9am flight, but missed that one too after sprinting through the terminal because TSA took a while. I got to the gate after boarding ended but before the plane took off, but they then transferred me to an 11am flight. I just checked my ticket and it says Basic Economy on it, and I was in seat 15A. Yet, when I got on the flight, they allowed me to get unlimited little bottles of Chardonnay (I only ended up having 5) for free! I am VERY grateful for this great experience, but I’m just confused as to how this happened because I was researching and it says that Basic Economy does not get complimentary alcohol. Does anyone know how this could have happened then? Did the American Airlines staff feel bad that I missed 2 flights so they made an exception?
I'm booking flights now to go to Asia, and the connecting main airport is Seattle. My flight in to Seattle is showing 1hr15min until the international flight departure. Is this too tight?
We are (from California) going to Japan this summer and part of our trip is flying from Tokyo to Fukuoka. I'm researching the air fares, and in some cases flying with a budget airline like Jetstar, Peach, Star Flyer etc. could save us some money, even though not much.
Just wondering if anyone here has experience flying with those airlines and if they are comparable to ANA/JAL domestic. The flight itself will be less than 2 hours, I meant how bad could it be? Even if the saving is only $25-30/person, if the experience is not much different, why not going with the budget airlines.
Hello, Everyone, How are you today?
