After delivering essential aid to Tonga, the Australian Navy’s HMAS Adelaide suffered a complete power failure, leaving it stranded and forcing some crew members to sleep above deck. (ABC News)

The warship has reportedly been experiencing problems for 3 days and some communications are still out of working order - but Defence Department officials insist it won’t affect aid efforts.

It ceases to be relevant; no matter how painful and frustrating, the truth is the truth, and you cannot regret picking integrity over popularity. The legacy of being steadfast in refusing to bend to the “acceptable lie” is bigger than oneself, even if you cannot exactly pinpoint where it falls. My self-reproach is limited to more superficial failures of character and conduct, which is about as good as any flawed human can hope for. Has been a surreal journey through very strange times.

BoJo Caught Lying AGAIN Over Afghan Dogs Evacuation (reports)

A newly uncovered Foreign Office email appears to contradict UK PM Boris Johnson’s insistence that he had no hand in the controversial decision to evacuate 173 cats and dogs from Kabul before helping Afghan allies.

On December 7 Johnson had claimed live on air that the allegations were “complete nonsense” and that he had had “no influence on the case."

A source at the private charter company that delivered the animals back to the UK claims Johnson’s private secretary - who was keen to have press on the flight to frame the evacuation as a good news story for her "boss." (Sky News)
