Not being really able to tell if you are watching a clone, drone, double, masked actor, CGI, historical footage, or the real person is kind of liberating. You just ignore all the "noise" at the individual character level, and only focus on structural matters or issues of principle.

To be honest, it's actually insulting, as are many attemtps at "persuasion" as opposed to "evidence".
I know the difference in someone who believes what they are saying, and someone who knows very well that they are attempting to manipulate perception.
