Have been pottering around Liverpool today. My father grew up just outside the city in Runcorn, and my WW1 vet grandfather (who died in the mid-1970s) was a reporter for a local newspaper. I was last here around 1974. I remember flying from Heathrow to Liverpool on a Vickers Viscount 4-engine prop plane as a small child, in the days before the motorway network was complete. https://www.baesystems.com/en/heritage/vickers-viscount

A splendid town with many great pubs. I remember visiting my older sister at university there and partying with Jack Daniels and Purple Oms.
