One of the consequences with higher gas prices is 'the people' are starting to innovate. TikTok full of hydrogen DIY and they are making progress. Normally big oil would kill you off but way too many now.

this is one of my fam's / my fav moments too
bc we came together (huddled like children telling stories),
thought outside the box, remembered the ways & days of old, appreciating each other in the moment, it was exciting!
i think the consciousness is coming together on this,
bc 'survival' brings out some wholesome & togetherness vibes, appreciating simplicity, the old ways & values,
and, i suspect w/ some, almost as if it were a welcome release from their former prison of convenience and inured habits
(it was for me and my family that cold few days one winter)
could be a whole new collective backlash / grassroots
of the spirit of innovation and community :)

We had power out in and ice storm several yrs ago and since Nana was the only one in the family that had a generator, yep, 10 ppl, 4 dogs.
We were fine, you find a lot of ways to reinvent "how to do" when you have to.

Nana didnt get solar but mine is supposed to be big enough to run the house on gas or propane and I figure if it goes on long enough that I cant get propane, everything has turned to shit and we gonna rethink all life.

Nana loves the cabins too but I have sold a few and done a lot of research on them and the upkeep on them to do it right so that it lasts is ENORMOUS.
The ppl that treat the outside for instance periodically required think a hell of a lot of their work!

Yeah I loved them too but at my age the upkeep would be a deal killer for me. They are so beautiful tho & for sure love love the hammered copper sinks.
If you ever see some of hand made sinks& painted sinks they sell in Pigeon Forge in the handcrafted clay shops you will just melt wanting all of them. But yeppers ya best have a lot of $$ in ya wallet.
Paying for beautiful craftsmanship like that tho is not hard as long as you have it they are so worth it. My daughter had to drag me out of the store, pottery craft is one of my favorites.
My other fav place up there is The Old Mill Distillery!
You must take a driver tho cause they have the VERY BEST FLAVORED MOONSHINE on the planet & they allow ppl to sample every flavor before you buy!

Blackberry with their qt. of lemonade.
For every 3 qts they give you a at of lemonade.
Trip to Dollywood Park.
