Yes shingles have always been associated with same virus type as chicken pox. We added in some monkeys to the mix. Gee that phiz jab might have something to do with it.
Someone with a strong immune system is less likely to have a severe case of shingles. If it is dormant and your immune is down, that's when it gets its power. Detox and strong immune system will be key in preventing any type of shingles even the chimpanzee kind.
If breakout of shingles, L-Lysine is key (also works with herpes tied to shingles), Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Zinc, lots of broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and radishes.

My son in law and daughter both had bouts of shingles. His entire lower back and top half of his buttocks were covered with blisters. He couldn't dress or wear anything during his outbreaks. I felt so bad for him because I knew he was miserable. She, on the other hand, had break outs between her legs, pubic area, and lower back. All you could do was offer to help out around the house. They were both miserable.
