The Bible says the Lord is our righteousness, none of us is righteous only God.

I shared this to show that the Armor of God was more than repentance and loving one another in respose to the post above. However, God does expect us to try to be righteous, Matthew 5:48.
God wants us to do what is right, but only He is righteous. We do our best (sometimes) but our best are filthy rags compared to Him. So we are always relying on God's mercy and forgiveness.
