My 23 year old son, born profoundly deaf bilaterally, had his first cochlear implant surgery at 2 years of age in his left ear. Then his second implant in his right ear at 12 years of age. With intensive intervention through preschool and school education, he completed his degree in IT and is now a Technical Support Engineer for DELL computers...hearing, listening and troubleshooting peoples computer problems all day!!🤩

It is a tough and challenging road, but on discovering my son's disability, I spoke to God and promised I would do everything in my power to help him reach his full potential, if that was God's will. It is a balancing act. I have 2 girls as well, but as devoted to his progress as I was, I ensured that the whole family always had love. Just try and fit some self care into the equation! I probably neglected myself a little.... best wishes to you
