Lived in sight of there for many, many years. Oliver North lives on the mountain, too. Once, I was trying to avoid the flooded river road and was traveling up the mountain. In the middle of a storm, I looked out my window to see two men in suits with ear thingys running alongside my car! I stopped, rolled down the window and they asked if I needed assistance! I said, “Um, noooooo, just trying to get home & my usual route is under water.” They pointed up (towards the east) and said I was almost to the ridge. My kids were terrified! Twenty plus years and that never happened again. Even know people who were housed (bunkered?) there on 9/11 & others just plain work there. Stories abound!
