As a recently retired nurse ( 50 years) I was so shocked that the doctors did not stand up against the firing of experienced nurses! I worked most of my career in the ER/ ICU setting and our physicians were very vocal with hospital administrators that made decisions that would affect the nursing staff especially if those decisions caused staffing shortages or made experienced staff leave. The doctors appreciated the seasoned nurses because we always had the doctos back. We could recognize a faulty order for instance and could inform them of things the doctor may not have noticed or was unaware of changes the patients may be experiencing. I especially wondered why they did not insist the staff be checked for antibodies/ natural immunity if they did not want the vax. 🙄
