How in this age of tech does it take a machine 3 hours to clean fooken dishes?

the reason why my grandmother had her original washing machine and dishwasher til the day she died. in the name of “green” and “efficient” we sacrificed the actual performance of the device. Oh, and now they also constantly break or need a new motherboard, and are loud as FOOK!

They were actually made to last back in the day. now you are lucky to get 5 years out of a new one. yes they are loud!

as an engineer, i despise the phrase ‘planned obsolescense’. somewhere along the line, businesses got the idea to let the marketing guys drive design… that’s not engineering, that’s knowingly releasing faulty and cheap products to drive future profits.

the future, which is ours, isn’t for widgets and planned obsolescence. it’s for reliability, products and work to be proud of.

instead of slaving over making the next annual iteration of a washing machine, let’s solve the washing machine problem once and for all, and get all those great design minds onto the next problem. there’s things MUCH more important than cleaning clothes (except underwear, i need clean undies)

imagine people actually excited for their next project/challenge? kinda makes me smile thinking of the design challenges just waiting in the wings…
